This is a not for profit US service which includes an online chat facility.
Reconnexion (Previously referred as Panic Anxiety and Depression Assistance, PADA)
Treating panic, anxiety, depression and tranquilliser dependency. This organisation runs individual and group programs in Melbourne. Has discounted fees for students.
ADAVIC
This site has useful information and a good listing of support groups available in Victoria.
Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression
Excellent site run by St Vincent's Hospital Sydney and University of New South Wales. Offers research information and self help material.
Body Image
Body Positive
This site promotes positive attitudes to body image. It has exercises which encourage you to examine your attitudes to your body and your eating behaviour.
Depression
ANU’s MoodGYM
ANU have developed a comprehensive interactive site which offers cognitive behavioural ideas for working with depression and anxiety. It is easy to use and has lots of opportunities for tailoring the ideas to your particular issues.
Dark Side of the Mood
This is on the ABC website and covers a range of topics including:
- What is depression?
- Are you depressed?
- What can you do?
- Antidepressants;
- Therapy;
- Alternative treatments.
DepNet
Australian information and networking service. Lots of interaction and debate.
Beyond Blue
This is the Australian site which looks at depression. The fact sheets are good, especially the one on managing your sleep cycle.
The part of the Beyond Blue site which is aimed at young people. There is a lot of input from young people.
Depression & Bipolar Disorder
The Black Dog Institute, a clinical, research and educational body dedicated to improving understanding, diagnosis and treatment of depression and bipolar disorder (formerly called manic depression in severe cases). It is Australian.

Interactive site coming from Columbia University. Has lots of Q&A on a wide range of issues including drug and alcohol use.
Drug Watch
DrugWatch.com is a comprehensive Web site database featuring extensive information about thousands of different medications and drugs currently on the market or previously available worldwide.
Virgina Tech - Alcohol Abuse Prevention
This is a terrific university based site which generates resources on alcohol use. It has a lot of very interesting and very user friendly information on how much alcohol is “safe” and what the immediate, short term and longer term consequences of alcohol use are. It really encourages protective behaviours and talks about staying in the “Pleasure Zone” rather than the “Zone of Regret”.
Eating Disorders

This is part of the centre for Adolescent Health at the Royal Children’s Hospital. Good list of treatment options.
The Eating Disorders Foundation of Victoria
The Eating Disorders Foundation of Victoria (EDFV) is a non-profit incorporated association founded in the mid 1980's to support those whose lives are affected by eating disorders, and to better inform the community about these disorders.

Infoxchange Australia Services Seeker
This is a directory of health and support services in Australia put together by a group called “Technology for Social Justice”. All services listed are run by not for profit or government agencies. You can search for service by topic, eg “youth”.
