Mental Health First Aid Training

Mental Health First Aid is a certified training program, teaching students how to provide initial support someone in a mental health crisis situation, or someone who is developing a mental disorder, until appropriate professional treatment is received or the crisis resolves. Mental health crisis situations covered are: suicidal thoughts and behaviours, panic attacks, severe effects of drug or alcohol use, severe psychotic states and aggressive behaviours. Developing mental health problems covered are: depression, anxiety problems, psychosis and substance use problems.

Blended Mental Health First Aid for Tertiary Students

Online training followed by a half day face-to-face workshop. Please complete the online training prior to registration. It is recommended that you allow 8 hours to complete the online training, and that the online component is completed at least 1 week prior to the face-to-face training. Completion of the online training is a prerequisite for attending the face-to-face workshop. Online training has a cost of $50, paid directly to Mental Health First Aid Australia. Standard 2-Day Mental Health First Aid Training

For some student groups, MHFA programs can also be completed in a 2-day face-to-face format. The content and accreditation for this course is equivalent to the blended version.
