Emergency accommodation
If you are experiencing a housing crisis and are in need of short term accommodation, we may be able to assist. Depending on your needs, Student Housing may be able to help you with emergency accommodation or make referrals to relevant external agencies. Alternatively, you may wish to contact one of the providers listed at the bottom of this page.
What is an Emergency?
There are many reasons why you may find yourself in a housing crisis. You may be affected by:
- Financial difficulties
- Eviction
- Short-term homelessness
- Family / relationship problems
- Domestic violence/ Sexual assault
Other University student support services within the Campus Community team, such as Financial Aid, International Student Support or Safer Community Program may also be helpful if you are experiencing difficulties to help get you back on track.
Am I Eligible?
If you are an enrolled student of the University of Melbourne and require Emergency Accommodation, you can make an appointment to see a Student Housing Adviser to discuss your situation. You may be offered temporary accommodation subject to the outcome of an assessment procedure and availability of accommodation at that time.
Need to talk to someone?
