Regional accommodation

If you're studying at one of our regional campuses or schools, it is convenient to find accommodation close to your campus.

Creswick campus

The Creswick Campus is managed by Business Services and you will find part of the School of Ecosystem and Forest Sciences located here. The Campus is 20km north of Ballarat and is 1.5 hours by car, or 2.5 hours by public transport, from our Parkville campus. It's about a 10 minute walk from Creswick train station, and accessible by both bus and train from Ballarat (up to 45 minutes, including the 10 minute walk).

On-campus accommodation

Creswick campus offers self-catered accommodation in three buildings - A.V. Galbraith Hall, Semmens House and The Lodge.

Shepparton campus

Part of the Melbourne Medical School, the Shepparton campus is home to the Shepparton Rural Clinical School. It's located about 3.5 hours north of our Parkville campus by public transport (a combination of buses and trains), or just over 2 hours by car.

On-campus accommodation

The Rural Health campus provides subsidised, fully furnished, self-catering student accommodation on site at the Clinical School, in a series of units at Graham St and Kilpatrick Avenue.

Dookie campus

The Dookie campus is part of the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences. It's a working farm located half an hour outside Shepparton and about a 2.5 hour drive from our Parkville campus. It isn't accessible by public transport.

Students studying here typically live on campus.

On-campus accommodation

A variety of accommodation options are available on campus, at varying price points, and with both self-catered and catered options. Facilities also include a swimming pool, gymnasium, and various sporting facilities.

Ballarat Rural Clinical School

Part of the Melbourne Medical School, the Ballarat Rural Clinical School ('Dunvegan') is adjacent to Ballarat Health Service (BHS) - Victoria's second largest regional health service. A rail trip between Ballarat and Melbourne is close to 60 minutes, and it's only 90 minutes by car.

Accommodation

Balanada Close consists of eight double-storey townhouses, while Drummond Street South is a heritage-listed Victorian weatherboard house which accommodates four people. Both options are within six kilometres of the Ballarat Health Service.

Wangaratta Clinical School

Known as 'The Chalet', the Wangaratta Clinical School is part of the Melbourne Medical School. It is adjacent to Northeast Health Wangaratta and it is a 2.5 hour drive from Melbourne.

Accommodation

Worland Road is located approximately four kilometres from Northeast Health Wangaratta and provides self-contained accommodation options.

Other options

The Department of Rural Health provides student residential accommodation at other regional sites in Victoria, such as Mansfield, Mount Beauty and Benalla. You can also find other options through the private rental market.
