International applicants: how to accept scholarship offers

If you are awarded a scholarship, the University of Melbourne will email you a scholarship offer letter. The scholarship offer letter will clearly set out:

  • how to accept or decline the scholarship, and
  • the date by which the scholarship must be accepted.  If you do not respond by the due date the scholarship offer will be withdrawn.

To accept your scholarship offer(s) please complete the following steps:

  1. Carefully read the conditions that apply to your scholarship(s). Note that any periods of study already undertaken toward the course for which these scholarship(s) have been awarded will be deducted from the tenure of the scholarship(s). By accepting a scholarship offer, you are agreeing to abide by the relevant terms and conditions.
  2. Complete and return the Accept/Decline Form to Scholarships by the due date stated in the scholarship offer letter.  If a response is not received by the due date the scholarship offer will lapse.
  3. Accept your course offer. Accepting a place in a course at the University of Melbourne is separate to accepting a scholarship offer. The information that you were sent you offering you a place in a course explains the visa requirements and how to accept the course offer. For further information about accepting your course offer please contact International Admissions.

If you will be absent from your contact address at the time the scholarship offers will be made, it is your responsibility to arrange for a proxy to accept/decline the offer(s) on your behalf.

If you later decide to decline the scholarship/s you have accepted, please immediately notify Melbourne Scholarships of this decision. This will enable us to award the scholarship/s to another applicant.
