Coming Closer

Coming Closer presents the works of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal children collected from three early childhood programs including:

Yappera Kindergarten, Children Services Cooperative, Thornbury, Victoria (a preschool for Aboriginal children);
The Aboriginal Outreach Program, Mareeba, Northern Queensland; and
The University of Melbourne’s Early Learning Centre.

The exhibition affirms the significance of story and art in the lives of children, and the power of art as a vehicle for communication across cultures.
