Booking an appointment with the Health Service

The Health Service is open Monday to Friday, 8.45 am to 5.00 pm on all days the University is open. You can book online or download the Appointuit app from the Apple iTunes store or Google Play store.

  • We are currently not accepting walk-ins. You must have an appointment to have a consultation.
  • If you are a new patient, you will need to call to make your first appointment.
  • If you book a face-to-face appointment, you will need to wear a mask, have your temperature taken and answer some screening questions as you enter the building.
  • We are not currently booking face-to-face appointments for patients who are symptomatic.

Book Appointment

You can also make an appointment by calling (03) 8344 6904.

We’ve changed our online patient booking system
From November 2023 we’re using HotDoc for all new online patient bookings, replacing our old booking platform, Appointuit.

What you need to do
If you’re an existing patient, the next time you make an online booking, you’ll need to use HotDoc by clicking on Book an Appointment. If you haven’t used it before, you’ll need to create an account when you make your first booking with HotDoc.

If you’re a new patient, please call the clinic at (03) 8344 6904 to make your first appointment.

If you already have a future booking
If you’ve booked a future consultation on Appointuit, you don’t need to do anything – simply turn up for your appointment as usual.

If you need to cancel any future consultations scheduled on or after 1 November booked via Appointuit, please contact the clinic at (03) 8344 6904 to cancel your appointment.

Any questions or need help?
Call the team at (03) 8344 6904 for support with the new booking system.

Thank you for your patience and understanding through this transition.

Telehealth consultations

The Health Service now offers telehealth consultations as well as in-person appointments. You can book a telehealth appointment if you:

  • Are in Australia (consultations cannot be provided to anyone offshore)
  • Have attended the clinic once in the last 12 months for a face-to-face consult
  • Don’t require in-person assistance (e.g. if the doctor doesn’t need to conduct an examination).

If you are unsure if a telehealth is right for you, please call (03) 8344 6904 to check your eligibility.

To book a telehealth appointment:

  1. Call (03) 8344 6904
  2. Indicate YTH in your appointment reminder confirmation text.

Results and questions

For best practice, it is the Health Service policy for patients to make an appointment to discuss results.

Due to appointment availability, we recommend you organise a follow-up appointment with the doctor you originally consulted with as soon as you get your test done.

If you have a follow-up question for the doctor pertaining to a recent consultation, a message will be taken by the administration team and responded to by the appropriate person as quickly as possible. Depending on the nature of the request, an appointment may be required.

After hours care

To arrange an after-hours home visit from National Home Doctor Service, call 13 SICK (13 7425) or 03 9429 5677. Alternatively, check the list of emergency contacts for inner-city public hospitals that provide care 24 hours a day.
